Africa, Lake Chad can be fully obmelet

Over the past 50 years, the area of ??Lake Chad - one of the largest reservoirs in Africa, where the waters play a key role in the lives of more than 30 million people in Cameroon, Nigeria, Niger and Chad - was reduced by 90%. According to scientists, with the pace lake is completely dry up in 20 years. In 1963, the lake area is 25 thousand square kilometers. To date, it takes only 2,5 thousand square kilometers, ITAR-TASS. One main reason is climate change, which led to the shallowing the main water arteries that feed the reservoir - Central Chari and Logone rivers. The mite makes and uncontrolled use of water resources for agricultural purposes. Previously, to prevent a disaster puts forward a number of hydraulic projects, which is based on "turning the rivers", and among the first in the 1970's a similar idea proposed by specialists from the USSR. However, until now scientists have not agreed on this issue. Now the Interstate Commission, which consists of representatives of Cameroon, Nigeria, Niger, Chad, CAR and Libya, has prepared a new project aimed at saving the water body. It involves water transfer with the help of a giant channel of the river Oubangui - the largest tributary of the Congo, most full-flowing river of Africa - toward a tributary of the Chari River Chad.
