Traveling to Jordan

Biblical Mount Nebo, which is traditionally considered the burial place of Moses, stands 10 kilometers west of Madaba. It is from the top prophet before his death should have seen the Promised Land. There are wonderful views over the Dead Sea, Jordan Valley, deep in the green of Jericho, and in good visibility and Bethlehem to Jerusalem. At the top are partially restored ruins of a church built in 390 year, transformed into a Byzantine basilica in the VI century. Inside the temple you can see mosaics depicting farmers, hunting scenes and animal figures. There is a large metal cross, decorated with obvivsheysya around the snake. Territory on Mount Heaven in 1934 were the Franciscans, is conducting archaeological research.
