Mountain Whiteside (Whiteside Mountains) in Appalachia, located near the town of Cashiers on the border of the U.S. state of North Carolina and Tennessee, each fall attracts many tourists and photographers a unique natural phenomenon - "a shadow of a bear." Shadow that casts a mountain range really has the shape of a bear and there is a sunset from mid-October to early November. During this period, it can be seen daily on the half hour - from 17.30 to 18.00. Whiteside mountain, reaching the height of 1503 meters, is one of the highest in the eastern United States. Autumn in these parts is very picturesque, but the "shadow Bear adds them to the tourist attraction. This phenomenon can also be observed from mid February to early March, reported at the tourist office Jackson County (North Carolina).
