Bratislava invites to a Christmas fair

Friday, November 19 in Bratislava Christmas market opens. It is held in the capital of Slovakia, the 18 th consecutive year. This year the fair will run longer than usual - 35 days. Fair will be located in three areas of the city - the main (Hlavne namestie), Franciscan (Frantiskanske namestie) and Hvedoslavovoy (Hviezdoslavovo namestie). She solemnly opened at 16.00 with the lighting of the Christmas tree in the main square. At the same time will include a festive illuminations in the old town. By 103 specially decorated stalls will be presented to the regional food, drinks and souvenirs. Visitors can try lokshe (cakes made from potato dough) with foie gras or a cabbage, roasted sausages and goose, cabbage (sauerkraut soup, a traditional dish at the Christmas table), pagache (patty with bacon), bread with lard and onions, liver " -chop, meat and fish dishes cooked on the grill, as well as traditional drinks - mulled wine, mead, grog and punch. There will be no lack of sweetness: the guests will be offered strudel - apple, poppy, nut, cheese, and honey cakes. Sales of alcoholic drinks and beer will be banned. At the fair, visitors can buy various souvenirs with a Christmas theme - leather goods, glass, ceramics, wood, beeswax, basketry and more. The festive atmosphere will create numerous performances by musicians and artists. The fair will be open from 10.00 to 22.00. It will last until December 23, writes Podroze.onet.pl.
