From January to September in Turkey, visited by more than 19.6 million foreign tourists. Most visitors come here from Germany (2,8 million) and Russia (over 2,3 million). These data provided the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey. In Antalya travels approximately 40% of all foreign tourists in Istanbul - almost 17% in the west, the Aegean coast - 16%, according to Interfax. Russians are predominantly (90%) are choosing vacation in Antalya. Moreover, if the global interest in Turkey falls (as in August, here noted a decrease in tourist flow to 1%, to 3.7 million), the demand from Russia, by contrast, is growing. In August, the Turkish resorts visited by 547 thousand Russian tourists, nearly 8% over the same month last year. As evidenced by the statistics, Russia accounted for almost 15% of all tourist arrivals, that is, almost every 7-th of foreign tourists in Turkey - our countryman. However, the results of its closest rival Turkey, Egypt, the better. During the first 6 months of this year the number of Russian tourists visiting resorts of this country has reached 1.437 billion, an increase of 70% compared to the same period of 2009.
