"Green Cathedral" - a new vista of Italy

The Commune-Oltre il Colle (Oltre il Colle) in the Italian province of Bergamo said the opening of the new cathedral, which became the first "green" cathedral, in harmony with the environment. The project is designed by Italian artist Giuliano Mauri, who died a year ago. The cathedral is located at the foot of Mount Arera and built entirely of logs, ropes and branches. When its construction was used by 1,800 barrels oil, 600 branches of chestnut trees and 6,000 branches of walnut. Five "aisles" "supported" 42 columns. Construction of the cathedral dedicated to the International Year of Biodiversity, the UN announced in 2010. It is expected that construction will become a new landmark-Oltre il Colle and attract tourists, writes Diariodelviajero.com.
